Suburban trains

Suburban trains are currently working in two cities of Turkey:  Istanbul and Izmir.

The suburban train service of Ankara is suspended due to engineering works and is expected to restart in March 2018.

Suburban service in Adapazari was stopped in 2017. Engineering works continue for suburban trains in Gaziantep.

Marmaray (Istanbul)

Marmaray is 13.6 km long crossing Bosphorus. 63 km is under construction, and planned to be opened by the end of 2018.

Trains are currently calling at Ayrilikcesmesi, Uskudar, Sirkeci, Yenikapi and Kazlicesme.

Izban (Izmir)

Izban is 137 km long. Suburban lines is planned to extent to 185 km in the future.

Baskentray (Ankara)

Ankara suburban service is 37 km long. The project of upgrading suburban lines and stations of Ankara for a faster and better service, Baskentray project continues. It’s expected to be commissioned by the end of February 2018.

Due to Baskentray project, suburban service is suspended.
