“I and 5 friends were planning on traveling to Istanbul this summer.
Our planned route was the train from Veliko Tarnovo (12th of August, 20:22) to Istanbul (where we would arrive on the 13th of August, 07:49). We would travel on on the 15th of August. We are using interrail tickets to travel through Europe.
However, we were very sorry to hear about the train crash in Turkey. After we checked Bahn.de, the planner we used to plan this trip, we saw our train had been removed from the schedule.
Is this correct? And if so, will there be replacing buses which we can use with our interrail tickets?”
Istanbul-Bucharest train continues to run. The Istanbul-Kapikule railway was opened for traffic 2 days after the accident. You won’t have any problem reaching Turkey with your train tickets.
