Cirali (Antalya) by train

I would like to travel from Istambul to Cirali by train. I was thinking of traveling on high speed train from Istanbul to Konya, and then catching another transport to Cirali. Do you think that is a good idea?

Antalya is unfortunately not rail connected. Konya is one alternative, where you can continue with connected bus service. 12:15 train from Istanbul to Konya has connection (bus departure from Konya at 17:20). Rest is not easy. Arrival at Antalya is at 22:35. Although there are minibus services to Cirali from Antalya bus station, it’s not frequent except summer. Furthermore, the minibus will leave you at the junction of Cirali (after midnight), where you have to find another vehicle to complete the last 9 km. Taxi is mainly available during summer.

I’d suggest you get in contact with the pension you’re going to stay and ask the last minibus service from Antalya main bus station and availability of any vehicle between state road and Cirali (sometimes pensions do help). In general, though we are a strong fan of trains, an overnight bus travel (or early plane) to Antalya, and traveling to Cirali during day seems better. Please share your experience if you use train. And good luck.. 🙂
