How to get to Ephesus by train from İstanbul?

Ephesus is 550 km away from İstanbul. Train may be entartaining if you don’t mind interchanges.

You’ll cross the Marmara Sea by ferry and take daily train to İzmir from Bandırma. After a night in İzmir, you can travel anytime to Selçuk.

Directions

Go to Yenikapı ferry port.

Take IDO ferry to Bandırma (2.5 hrs).

Go to Bandırma train station.

Take 6 Eylul Express (Izmir-Bandirma) train to İzmir. It’ll take about 7-7.5 hours (342 km).

Rest in a hotel. Click for hotels around İzmir (Basmane) station.

Take Izmir-Denizli train to Selçuk. It’ll take about 1:30 hours . Please also check Izmir-Soke and Izmir-Nazilli trains as alternative.

Ephesus is three kilometers southwest of Selçuk town, at the south of İzmir Province. It’s walking distance (600 mt) from Selçuk Train Station to Selçuk Bus Station (see directions map). The minibuses are running between Selçuk bus station and Ephesus regularly and frequently.
