Do you have some salt?” When a shy man in his 30s poked his head around the glass door of our small four-seat compartment, we had been on the train for no more than 15 minutes and were still stunned by the vintage features of the corridor coach that would take us from Tehran, Iran, to Ankara, Turkey.
